Kejriwal Slams BJP's Gujarat Rule, Vows AAP Change in 2027

Aam Aadmi Party national convener Arvind Kejriwal launched a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party during a rally in Vadodara on Monday. He declared that the BJP has completely ruined Gujarat during its three decades of governance.

Gujarat's Prosperity Lost Under BJP Rule

Kejriwal claimed Gujarat was once India's most prosperous state. He said that status has now vanished. Farmers, youth, and poor people are suffering immensely under the current administration. The Delhi former chief minister addressed party workers with strong criticism.

"They have ruined everything and insulted every section of society in these thirty years," Kejriwal stated emphatically. He framed the political struggle as something larger than a simple power transfer.

"This fight is not a fight for power. It is a fight for Gujarat's honour. It is a fight for the self-respect of Gujaratis," he told the gathering. The AAP leader insisted this movement goes beyond merely replacing one ruling party with another.

Meeting Harni Lake Tragedy Families

Before his public address, Kejriwal met with relatives of victims from the Harni lake boat accident. That tragic incident occurred on January 18, 2024. It claimed the lives of twelve schoolchildren and two teachers.

Kejriwal expressed outrage about the government's response. "They don't care about you. They care about the contractors," he alleged. The AAP chief pointed out that no compensation reached the affected families. He also noted that nobody faced punishment for the disaster.

He shared another disturbing allegation. Women from two families connected to the tragedy approached a chief minister's meeting. Police removed them from the venue. Two days later, authorities arrived to demolish their houses according to Kejriwal's account.

Tribal Welfare Funds Diverted

Kejriwal turned his attention to Gujarat's tribal regions. He described them as remaining the most backward areas in the state. Development funds allocated for tribal welfare are being diverted for other purposes he claimed.

The AAP leader presented a specific example. An AAP MLA from Scheduled Tribe-reserved Dediapada constituency filed a Right to Information request. They sought details about spending on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rally in Narmada district.

The response revealed shocking information according to Kejriwal. Rs 50 crore was used from the state's tribal welfare fund for the rally expenses. He broke down some alleged expenditures from that amount.

  • Rs 2 crore spent on samosas
  • Rs 5 crore spent on tents
  • Rs 7 crore spent on the stage

Kejriwal accused the ruling party of stealing money meant for tribal communities. He said the government maintains control through fear, atrocities, and humiliation tactics.

Confidence in 2027 Victory

The AAP chief expressed strong belief in changing Gujarat's political landscape. He asserted that people across the state desire change. Kejriwal voiced confidence about his party dethroning the BJP in the 2027 Gujarat assembly elections.

He didn't spare the principal opposition party either. Kejriwal attacked the Congress party's capability. "The Congress is incapable of doing anything because the party's people get government contracts," he alleged. This criticism positioned AAP as the only genuine alternative to BJP rule in Gujarat.

Kejriwal's Vadodara speech marked another aggressive push into Gujarat politics. The AAP continues building momentum ahead of future electoral battles in the state.
