KTR Condemns SIT Interrogation as Political Diversion Strategy
In a fiery address to party legislators, BRS working president KT Rama Rao strongly denounced his extended questioning by the Special Investigation Team as a deliberate maneuver by the ruling Congress administration. The political leader characterized the seven-hour session as a calculated diversionary tactic designed to shift public attention away from what he described as significant governance shortcomings.
Allegations of Investigative Theater and Media Manipulation
Rama Rao asserted that the current government is employing investigative agencies to create what he termed political entertainment for citizens. According to his assessment, this strategy serves the dual purpose of generating sensational headlines while simultaneously obscuring unfulfilled electoral commitments and mounting administrative challenges facing the state.
"Despite my complete cooperation with the investigative process, the substance of the inquiry proved remarkably insubstantial," remarked the BRS leader. He detailed how officials spent considerable time reciting numerous names without presenting any tangible evidence to support their lines of questioning.
Unanswered Questions About Surveillance and Media Leaks
The political figure raised pointed concerns about systematic media leaks that have targeted opposition leaders and their families over the preceding twenty-four months. "The SIT investigators could not provide any explanation regarding the source of these persistent character-targeting leaks," he emphasized during his gathering with MLAs and MLCs.
Rama Rao further challenged authorities to address what he described as an entrenched surveillance culture that has reportedly expanded under the present administration. He referenced specific instances where government ministers have allegedly expressed reluctance to communicate freely due to monitoring concerns, questioning why these serious allegations remain uninvestigated while what he called fictional narratives receive official attention.
Demand for Balanced Investigation and Governance Focus
The BRS leader presented a series of demands to the ruling establishment, including:
- Establishment of a special investigation team to examine corruption allegations involving current leadership
- Immediate cessation of what he termed diversion games through investigative agencies
- Concrete action on electoral promises made to Telangana residents
"Our party respects legal processes and demonstrates this through our prompt compliance with summons," declared Rama Rao. He highlighted that neither he nor fellow leader Harish Rao sought delays or legal stays when called for questioning, contrasting this with what he suggested were politically motivated investigations.
The BRS working president concluded with a firm commitment to continue highlighting governmental deficiencies daily, asserting that political intimidation tactics would not deter opposition accountability efforts. He urged the administration to redirect energy toward substantive governance rather than what he characterized as opposition targeting through investigative mechanisms.
