The victim, identified as Aditi, was returning home from the fields with her mother and brother around 10 am when the tragedy unfolded. According to eyewitness accounts, the leopard was hiding in nearby bushes and suddenly pounced on the young girl. The animal grabbed her by the neck and began dragging her toward the forest, demonstrating the predator's swift and brutal attack pattern.
Hearing the mother's desperate screams, villagers immediately rushed to the scene armed with sticks and rods. Their collective intervention forced the leopard to abandon the critically injured child approximately 200 meters from the initial attack site. The animal then fled into adjacent sugarcane fields, disappearing from view.
