The alleged suicide of a 27-year-old medical representative in Kurnool has sparked a political controversy, with accusations flying between rival parties. Satish, a resident of Sriram Nagar in Kurnool, was found dead at his home on Sunday morning, reportedly due to suicide.
Police Investigation and Initial Findings
Kurnool III Town police inspector Seshaiah visited the crime scene and arranged for the body to be sent for postmortem. A case was registered based on a complaint filed by Satish's father, Balanna. According to police, Satish was distressed over a failed relationship with a woman living in the neighborhood. However, the woman had previously lodged a complaint against Satish, accusing him of harassment despite her rejection of his advances. She and her father also sought help from a local politician to resolve the issue.
Political Allegations and Denials
The incident took a political turn when former MLA and YSRCP Kurnool district president SV Mohan Reddy alleged that local TDP leadership harassed Satish and influenced events leading to his death. In response, the woman and her father denied any involvement of TDP leaders. Local TDP leader Gattu Tilak condemned the allegations, urging political leaders not to politicize personal matters.
The controversy has added tension to the already charged political atmosphere in the region, with both parties trading accusations. Police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding Satish's death.
