MK Stalin Leaves Kodagu Amid Protests by Hindu Activists

Madikeri: Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK chief MK Stalin, along with his son and opposition leader Udayanidhi Stalin, and their family, left Kodagu safely under tight security on Monday amid fears of protests by Hindu activists in Kushalnagar.

Stalin's Stay and Planned Departure

According to Stalin's programme schedule, he and his family had been staying at the Leela Palace resort in Moduru near Madikeri for the past four days. They were originally scheduled to return to Tamil Nadu on Monday via Kushalnagar.

Protest Plans by Hindu Activists

Pro-Hindu activists, upon learning of Stalin's visit, had planned to stop his convoy and stage a protest by wearing black bands near Kushalnagar on Monday. The demonstration was organized at Guddehosuru near Kushalnagar, as activists wanted to express their anger over Stalin's alleged 'insult' to Sanathana Dharma.

Police Response and Security Measures

Police, upon learning of the protest plans, immediately deployed additional forces in Kushalnagar. From early morning, tight security was provided in the town and its surroundings along the Madikeri-Kushalnagar highway, with District Armed Police personnel stationed at key points.

Stalin's Alternate Route

Upon learning about the protest, Stalin and his family left Madikeri with security via Siddapura Road. Instead of the originally planned route from Madikeri to Mysuru via Kushalnagar, the DMK chief's family exited the district through Siddapura and reached Periyapatna, as confirmed by sources. Meanwhile, Hindu activists shouted slogans against Stalin and protested in front of the Ganapathi Temple in Kushalnagar.

Other Details

In a separate development, Stalin's son-in-law, V Sabareesan, was seen playing golf at the Mercara Downs Golf Club along with his friends, according to sources.
