Nagpur Hit-and-Run Incident Claims Life of 58-Year-Old Man
In a tragic incident on Thursday evening, a 58-year-old man lost his life after his two-wheeler was struck by a speeding unidentified vehicle in Nagpur. The accident occurred at Saibaba Colony on the Nagpur-Kamptee Road, sending shockwaves through the local community.
Details of the Fatal Accident
The victim, identified as Kartik Argulewar, was riding his two-wheeler when the speeding vehicle collided with him. Following the impact, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene without stopping to assist or report the incident, according to police reports. Argulewar sustained severe head injuries in the crash.
He was immediately rushed to the sub-district hospital for emergency medical treatment. Despite the efforts of doctors, Argulewar was declared dead during treatment, highlighting the severity of his injuries.
Police Investigation and Legal Action
In response to the incident, Argulewar's brother, Narottam Argulewar (62), lodged a formal complaint at the Old Kamptee police station. Based on this complaint, authorities have registered a case against the unidentified driver.
The case has been filed under multiple legal provisions, including sections 106 and 281 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with co-sections 134, 184, and 177 of the Motor Vehicles Act. These sections typically cover offenses related to rash driving, causing death by negligence, and violations of traffic rules.

Police have launched an intensive investigation to trace the driver responsible for the hit-and-run. They have made a public appeal, urging any eyewitnesses to come forward with information that could aid in the case.
Additionally, authorities are seeking access to CCTV footage from the area around Saibaba Colony on the Nagpur-Kamptee Road. This footage is crucial for identifying the vehicle and its driver, as well as reconstructing the events leading up to the accident.
