More than 30 passengers sustained injuries after a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus, en route to the temple town of Dharmasthala, overturned on Friday morning near Sakleshpur in Hassan district. The incident occurred around 7:30 am when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a sharp curve on a ghat section.
Details of the Accident
The bus, which had departed from Bengaluru, was carrying approximately 40 passengers at the time of the mishap. According to preliminary reports, the driver attempted to maneuver a particularly sharp bend on the National Highway 75, but the bus veered off the road and overturned onto its side. The impact of the crash left several passengers trapped inside the wreckage, prompting a swift rescue operation by local authorities.
Rescue and Medical Response
Upon receiving the alert, police personnel and fire brigade teams rushed to the spot. They worked alongside local residents to extricate the injured passengers from the overturned bus.
