Medical Aspirant's Death in Patna Ignites Political Storm
The tragic death of a medical aspirant in Patna has erupted into a major political controversy. Opposition leaders are launching sharp attacks against the Nitish Kumar-led NDA government in Bihar. They accuse the administration of failing to maintain basic law and order, protect women, and deliver justice.
Opposition Leaders Voice Strong Condemnation
Leader of the opposition, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, did not mince words. He stated that law and order in Bihar has completely collapsed. Yadav called the Chief Minister's prolonged silence on the matter nothing short of criminal. He directly accused the NDA's so-called "double-engine" government of becoming a tool for oppressors, corrupt elements, criminals, and rapists.
Yadav highlighted several recent horrific cases to support his claims. He alleged the government systematically protects criminals. At the same time, he said, it deploys lathi-charges against peaceful protesters and files cases against RJD workers who are merely demanding justice for victims.
Demands for CBI Probe and Allegations of Negligence
VIP chief Mukesh Sahani has written to the central government. He is urging a CBI investigation into the incident. Sahani called the event deeply shameful and a grave warning to the state government and its administration. He expressed concern that even students living in hostels are no longer safe in Bihar.
Purnia MP Pappu Yadav leveled serious allegations of police negligence and protection of influential figures. He claimed the victim briefly regained consciousness during treatment but was then forcibly placed on a ventilator. Yadav alleged the family was deliberately kept occupied and every effort was made to conceal the truth. He is demanding a CBI probe into both the crime and the apparent cover-up attempt.
Political Figures Engage, Government Responds
Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor took direct action. He met with Patna SSP Kartikeya K Sharma and the victim's family to press for justice. Kishor questioned the initial police narrative that suggested suicide. This narrative was later corrected by post-mortem findings, which pointed towards a different conclusion.
On the government side, Union minister and HAM(S) chief Jitan Ram Manjhi offered a statement. He said an investigation is currently underway and assured the public that the full truth will soon come out. Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary also addressed the issue. He assured prompt action and confirmed that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to investigate the case thoroughly.
The incident has clearly struck a nerve, putting the state's law and order machinery under intense scrutiny. Political temperatures are running high as calls for accountability grow louder. The formation of the SIT is the government's immediate response, but opposition parties are pushing for a higher-level CBI inquiry to ensure transparency. The coming days will be crucial as the investigation unfolds and political pressure continues to mount.
