Patna Implements Major Traffic Plan for BJP's 'Aakrosh March' on Monday
Patna authorities have announced comprehensive traffic restrictions that will be enforced throughout the city on Monday in preparation for the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) "Aakrosh March." This significant political demonstration is being organized to protest against opposition parties for their alleged failure to support the Constitution Amendment Bill that seeks to establish 33% reservation for women in both Parliament and state legislative assemblies.
March Details and Political Context
BJP state president Sanjay Sarawagi has clarified that the primary objective of this march is to demand answers from opposition leaders regarding what the party describes as deliberate obstacles in passing the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam in Parliament. Sarawagi confirmed that all organizational preparations have been finalized, with a substantial stage already constructed at Gandhi Maidan to accommodate the expected gathering.
Prominent political figures including Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary and several senior National Democratic Alliance (NDA) leaders are scheduled to address the assembled crowd. Participants from across Bihar are anticipated to arrive in substantial numbers using various transportation methods, including both large and small vehicles, which has necessitated the implementation of this specialized traffic management strategy.
Comprehensive Traffic Restrictions Around Gandhi Maidan
The special traffic plan will remain operational from 6:00 AM until the conclusion of the political program. The restrictions specifically target the Gandhi Maidan vicinity and include the following measures:
- All commercial vehicles, including auto-rickshaws and e-rickshaws, are completely prohibited from operating in the areas surrounding Gandhi Maidan.
- Vehicles traveling from Danapur via Rajapur Pul will be systematically diverted at the Police Line tri-junction.
- Transportation coming from Gaighat via Ashok Rajpath will be rerouted through Kunkun Singh Lane located near Krishna Ghat.
- Auto-rickshaws and e-rickshaws on Exhibition Road will not be permitted to proceed beyond Bhattacharya crossing toward North Gandhi Maidan.
- Vehicles approaching from S P Verma Road must turn back at Swaminandan tri-junction via Bata Mor.
- Auto and e-rickshaw movement is strictly prohibited on T N Banerjee Path from Budh Marg/Chhajjubagh and on Budh Marg between Kotwali and Police Line tri-junction.
- Similar restrictions apply to the stretch from Police Line Gate No. 0-01 to Bank Road.
- Vehicles originating from Machhua Toli will only be allowed to travel up to Thakur Bari Mor.
Organizational Preparations and Expected Impact
The BJP has coordinated extensively with local authorities to ensure the march proceeds smoothly while minimizing disruption to regular city activities. The traffic restrictions have been strategically designed to manage anticipated congestion as thousands of participants converge on the political rally. Residents and commuters are strongly advised to plan their travel accordingly and consider alternative routes to avoid significant delays.
This political mobilization occurs against the backdrop of ongoing parliamentary debates concerning women's representation in India's legislative bodies. The BJP's "Aakrosh March" represents a concerted effort to maintain political pressure on opposition parties regarding this critical legislative initiative.
