PM Modi in Malda: Infiltration Biggest Challenge for Bengal, Demography Changing
Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a strong speech in West Bengal's Malda district on Saturday. He directly attacked the ruling Trinamool Congress government during his public rally.
Infiltration as Primary Concern
Modi identified infiltration as the most significant challenge facing West Bengal today. He stated that infiltrators cannot be sent back while the TMC remains in power.
"Even developed countries are removing infiltrators," Modi told the crowd. "It is crucial that infiltrators are removed in West Bengal too."
The Prime Minister accused TMC ministers and syndicates of making these infiltrators voters for years. He claimed this action has snatched rights from local youth and spread terror across the country.
Changing Demography and Dialect
Modi further asserted that West Bengal's demography and dialect have changed due to infiltration. He linked the increase in infiltrators to riots occurring in several parts of the state.
"Once BJP comes to power, big action will be taken against infiltrators," the Prime Minister promised his audience.
Reassurance for Matua and Namasudra Communities
In his address, Modi offered specific reassurance to the Matua and Namasudra communities in Bengal. He told those who came from neighboring countries seeking shelter that they need not fear.
"They have the right to live here under the Citizenship Amendment Act," Modi clarified. "The BJP government will bring development to Matua and Namasudra colonies."
Attack on TMC Governance
The Prime Minister launched a sharp critique against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's administration. He accused the current regime of looting the public and blocking central schemes from implementation.
Modi cited a specific example regarding flood relief funds. He claimed the central government sent flood relief money forty times to Bengal, but affected people never received it.
"I recently read the CAG report about Malda floods," Modi revealed. "This important report showed flood relief money went to TMC associates instead of needy people. Lakhs were distributed to undeserving individuals while those in trouble got nothing."
Regional Political Context
The Prime Minister placed Bengal within a broader regional political picture. He noted that eastern India was held captive for decades by divisive politics, but BJP has freed these states.
- Odisha formed a BJP government for the first time
- Tripura has trusted BJP for many years
- Assam showed trust in BJP during recent elections
- Bihar chose NDA government once again
"All around Bengal, there are BJP governments," Modi emphasized. "Now is the time for Bengal to have good governance by electing a BJP government."
Appeal for Change
Modi made a direct appeal to Bengal voters with the slogan "Paltano dorkar, chai BJP sarkar" (Need a change here, need BJP government here). He assured that if elected, the BJP government would restore Bengal's and Malda's old pride.
The Prime Minister specifically mentioned that Generation Z has faith in BJP's development model. He concluded by calling the TMC government "cruel and stone-hearted" and stating it should go.
This rally occurred ahead of Assembly elections in West Bengal, highlighting the intense political competition in the state. Modi's speech focused on security concerns, governance issues, and regional political dynamics as key election themes.
