Pune Road Closures for Civic Polls: Key Traffic Changes

Pune traffic police have issued a notification detailing significant traffic changes across the city as civic polls approach their final stages. These adjustments will be in effect from January 14 to 16, covering the distribution of polling kits, polling day, and the counting process.

Key Dates and Exemptions

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Himmat Jadhav announced the measures on Tuesday evening. The traffic changes will apply from 6 am to 7 pm each day. Government vehicles assigned to polling duties and emergency response vehicles will not face these restrictions, ensuring essential services continue smoothly.

Vimantal Division Closures

In the Vimantal Division, two roads will be completely closed. The road behind Phoenix Mall and the road connecting the Maruti Showroom to the Solitaire building will shut down. Traffic will be rerouted via Shrikrushna Hotel Chowk and Datta Mandir Chowk to minimize disruptions.

Vishrambag Division Adjustments

For the Vishrambag Division, traffic from Puram Chowk to Tilak Road will halt. Vehicles will need to take a detour via Bajirao Road. Additionally, traffic from Alka Talkies Chowk to Puram Chowk via Tilak Road will stop, with diversions set through Senadatt Chowk and Dandekar Bridge.

Dattawadi Division Routes

In Dattawadi, traffic from Bajirao Road to NS Phadke Chowk will cease. Drivers should use Appa Balwant Chowk or Puram Chowk as alternatives. Similarly, traffic from Sarasbaug Khau Galli to Thorle Madhavrao Peshwa Road will stop, with the same diversion options available.

Hadapsar Division Changes

The Hadapsar Division will see the road from Shiv Sena Chowk to Sane Guruji School close. Traffic will be diverted via Hadapsar Ves and DP Road to maintain flow in the area.

Samarth Traffic Division Updates

Samarth Traffic Division will implement closures on several roads: Power House to Banerjee Chowk, Sant Kabir Chowk to Quarter Gate Chowk, and Ramoshi Gate to Old Motor Stand. All affected traffic will be redirected via Shantai Hotel, Bahubali Chowk, and Seven Loves Chowk.

Koregaon Park Traffic Division Details

For Koregaon Park Traffic Division, traffic from North Main Road to the Water Supply Centre will stop. It will be diverted via Koregaon Park Junction and ABC Farm. Additionally, traffic from Mahatma Gandhi Chowk to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Chowk will halt, with the same diversion route in place.
