Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann Announces Rs 1,000 Monthly Allowance for Eligible Women

In a significant announcement, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann stated on Saturday that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government will soon fulfill its promise of providing a monthly allowance of Rs 1,000 to every eligible woman in the state. Addressing a public gathering in Khemkaran, located in the Tarn Taran district, Mann emphasized that necessary financial provisions for this initiative will be incorporated into the upcoming state budget, ensuring all commitments made to the people are honored.

Mann Criticizes Opposition Parties as Divided and Bankrupt

During his speech, Chief Minister Mann launched a sharp critique against the main opposition parties in Punjab. He described the Congress as a "divided house" that is likely to collapse due to internal conflicts, noting their lack of vision and unity. Mann pointed out that forming a government in Punjab requires 60 seats, a goal he deemed unattainable for the Congress given their current state.

Turning to the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), Mann labeled the party as "bankrupt" and accused its leaders of offering nothing but a "roadmap to loot and harass the common man." He alleged that the SAD has historically misused religion for political gain, but asserted that the people of Punjab will no longer be misled by such tactics.

Infrastructure Development and Border Area Focus

Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Mann laid the foundation stone for a Rs 137-crore rural link road project in the border constituency of Khemkaran. He highlighted the state government's commitment to strengthening infrastructure, creating employment opportunities, and improving public services in border regions, which have often been neglected by previous administrations.

Mann detailed progress in various sectors, including:

  • Canal irrigation projects to boost agriculture
  • Initiatives for employment generation to reduce unemployment
  • Education reforms aimed at enhancing learning outcomes

He stated, "From roads and schools to playgrounds and industry, our government is committed to ensuring comprehensive development in border areas." Mann praised the residents of these regions as true patriots and reiterated the AAP government's dedication to their welfare, contrasting it with the alleged indifference of successive governments in the past.
