Punjab CM Mann Warns Against Divisive Politics

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Thursday warned against divisive politics, stating that some political parties in the state are attempting to divide people along religious lines. Addressing a religious function in Seechewal, Jalandhar, organized by environmentalist and Rajya Sabha member Baba Balbir Singh Seechewal to mark the 38th death anniversary of Sant Avtar Singh, Mann emphasized that forces seeking to gain power by creating communal strife will not succeed because the people of Punjab celebrate all festivals together.

Caution Against Divisive Forces

Mann asserted that the politics of certain parties revolves around creating divisions between communities and then frightening both sides for votes. He urged the public to remain cautious of such tactics. "People must remain cautious of such politics. These people spread hatred by dividing society on the basis of caste and religion, but the Aam Aadmi Party does not believe in such politics," he said.

Call for Unity

The Chief Minister called upon Punjabis to unite and give a befitting reply to divisive forces, which he described as enemies of peace, amity, and communal harmony in the state. "Those trying to disturb communal harmony are enemies of Punjab because they want to push the state back into dark days," he added.
