Chandigarh: Punjab assembly speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan on Monday nominated chairpersons for various House committees for the 2026-27 legislative term, with all 15 panels being headed by MLAs of the serving Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab.
Key Appointments
AAP's Amritsar South MLA, Inderbir Singh Nijjar, was appointed chairman of the public accounts committee, while AAP MLA from Bathinda Urban Jagroop Singh Gill was named chairperson of the committee on public undertakings. The House committee will be headed by deputy speaker Jai Krishan Singh in his capacity as ex officio chairman.

- Manjit Singh Bilaspur will head the committee on estimates.
- Sarvjit Kaur Manuke will chair the committee on welfare of scheduled castes, scheduled tribes and backward classes.
