Ranchi Municipal Corporation Rolls Out Comprehensive Plan for Ram Navami Celebrations
With the Ram Navami Shobha yatra scheduled for Friday, the Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) has unveiled an extensive operational blueprint to guarantee clean, secure, and meticulously organized festivities throughout the city. The corporation is executing special sanitation initiatives, deploying free transportation, enhancing public lighting, and fortifying medical emergency response systems.
Intensive Sanitation and Cleanliness Drives Underway
RMC has launched targeted sanitation campaigns along primary procession routes, including Main Road, and at significant religious sites. These efforts incorporate mechanical sweeping operations, water sprinkling to suppress dust, and bleaching procedures. The corporation has strategically positioned additional dustbins to manage waste effectively. Furthermore, a major drainage channel near the Tapovan temple has undergone thorough cleaning to preempt any potential waterlogging issues during the celebrations.
Free City Bus Services to Facilitate Devotee Movement
To ensure seamless mobility for participants, RMC will operate complimentary city bus services across ten major routes on Friday. These routes will interconnect key areas such as Bariatu, Kanke Road, Ratu Road, and Namkum, providing accessible transit options. An additional five buses will be maintained on standby for emergency deployment, with boarding priority explicitly granted to women, children, and elderly devotees.
Enhanced Public Lighting and Infrastructure Safety
Public illumination has been substantially augmented for the event. RMC has installed 35 generators at 32 different locations and is setting up 686 supplementary high-mast lights to brighten the procession path. Repairs to malfunctioning street lights are being expedited to ensure continuous, uninterrupted lighting throughout the festivities. As a critical safety precaution, the corporation has placed 148 slabs over open drains and conducted trimming of tree branches along all major routes to prevent accidents.
Comprehensive Amenities and Regulatory Measures
The municipal body is providing essential amenities to support the large gathering. This includes deploying 25 water tankers to supply drinking water at designated points, with nine additional tankers stationed along main procession arteries. Mobile toilet facilities have been installed at high-footfall locations such as Kutchery Chowk, Shaheed Chowk, and Albert Ekka Chowk. Concurrently, RMC will enforce a ban on the sale of meat and fish for the day, alongside a strict prohibition on single-use plastic items along all procession routes to maintain cleanliness.
Robust Medical Preparedness and Emergency Response
Medical readiness has been significantly strengthened. Emergency medical teams, supported by ambulances, have been deployed at 15 strategic locations across the city, including Main Road, Lower Bazar, and Doranda Bazar. Civil Surgeon Prabhat Kumar confirmed that similar medical preparedness has been established in all 14 rural blocks surrounding Ranchi to ensure timely assistance for attendees in peripheral areas. "We have deployed medical teams with ambulances at 15 strategic locations across the city to ensure immediate response in case of any emergency during the procession. In an official communiqué, RMC emphasized its holistic approach: "RMC is ensuring special cleanliness drives, drinking water supply through tankers, mobile toilets at key locations and free bus services for devotees. Additional lighting, drain coverage, tree trimming and continuous monitoring by seven dedicated teams are in place to provide a safe and well-organised environment." The corporation's multi-faceted strategy aims to deliver a secure, hygienic, and smoothly conducted Ram Navami celebration for all residents and visitors in Ranchi.
