In a significant civic event, Mayor-elect Roshni Khalkho and Deputy Mayor-elect Neeraj Kumar formally took their oaths on Thursday, officially commencing a new term at the Ranchi Municipal Corporation. Deputy Mayoral Election Results and Leadership Mandate
The deputy mayoral election, conducted on the same day, resulted in a decisive victory for BJP-backed Neeraj Kumar, who serves as a councillor from Ward 31. Kumar secured a strong mandate with 38 votes from the 53 elected ward councillors, defeating his opponent, Ward 44 councillor Parmjeet Singh, who received 15 votes. This clear margin underscores robust support from the newly constituted board and sets a positive tone for the civic body's leadership moving forward.
Officials confirmed that the voting process was executed smoothly, with administrative authorities present to ensure adherence to due procedures. With his election, Kumar now assumes a pivotal role in steering policy decisions and coordinating with councillors across various wards.
