RJD Convenes Key Strategy Session in Patna to Review Election Performance

Several prominent RJD figures participated in the lengthy meeting. State president Mangani Lal Mandal joined the session alongside multiple MPs and legislators. National secretaries of the party also attended the nearly three-hour deliberations.
Party sources revealed that Tejashwi Yadav conducted a thorough review of the RJD's performance in recent assembly elections. He emphasized the need for organizational strengthening while urging workers to vigorously champion public issues. The opposition leader hinted at potential disciplinary measures against members engaging in anti-party activities.
Addressing Organizational Challenges and Future Strategy
"Tejashwi interacted extensively with party functionaries," confirmed Alok Kumar Mehta, an RJD MLA and former minister. "He asked them to prepare diligently for upcoming political challenges."
While Mehta didn't provide specific details, insiders indicated the party faces significant organizational hurdles. The RJD's strength in the assembly has diminished considerably, now standing at just 25 members. Maintaining unity among remaining legislators presents a major challenge.
Chandra Shekhar, the Madhepura MLA and former minister, offered additional perspective. "Our party secured substantial voter support despite seat losses," he noted. "The meeting carefully examined shortcomings during assembly polls. We're developing strategic responses to address these issues."
Shekhar confirmed that disciplinary proceedings against leaders who worked against party interests during elections received serious discussion. The gathering focused on maintaining organizational discipline moving forward.
Commemorative Events and Symbolic Gestures
Participants decided to celebrate socialist leader Karpoori Thakur's birth anniversary across all district headquarters on January 24. This will precede a large public gathering in Patna during February to mark his death anniversary.
Meanwhile, an interesting development occurred outside the RJD office on Beerchand Patel Path. Party workers displayed a poster demanding Bharat Ratna recognition for Lalu Prasad Yadav. This appeared as a counterpoint to growing calls for awarding the honor to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
The poster, created by Ranjeet Rajak, described Lalu Prasad as the messiah of impoverished communities. This symbolic gesture highlighted ongoing political dynamics within Bihar's opposition landscape.
The RJD continues to regroup following recent electoral setbacks. Saturday's meeting demonstrated the party's commitment to organizational revitalization and strategic planning for future political battles.
