RLM MLAs Hold Late-Night Meeting with Kushwaha as BJP Mediates Party Rift
Two Rashtriya Lok Morcha legislators met party president Upendra Kushwaha late Friday night in Patna. This meeting sent strong signals that all remains well within the party despite recent reports of internal discord.
Key MLAs Attend Crucial Meeting
Madhav Anand from Madhubani and Alok Kumar Singh from Dinara participated in the important late-night discussion with Kushwaha. However, Rameshwar Mahto, the third of the four RLM MLAs, did not attend this gathering. Kushwaha's wife Snehlata serves as the fourth RLM legislator.
BJP Initiates Reconciliation Efforts
Sources reveal that the Bharatiya Janata Party initiated the patch-up efforts within the Rashtriya Lok Morcha. This mediation followed a morning meeting between a senior RSS leader and Upendra Kushwaha on Friday.
Political analysts observe that the remaining dissidents within the party now face a critical choice. They must either return to the fold or risk becoming isolated within their own political organization.
Recent Events Highlight Tensions
Mahto and Alok Kumar Singh attended the Makar Sankranti feast hosted by BJP national working president Nitin Nabin. This event coincided with the RLM's 'Milan Samaroh' gathering in Patna on Friday afternoon.
Earlier, all three RLM MLAs had skipped a litti party hosted by Kushwaha. Mahto has publicly expressed dissatisfaction with Kushwaha's leadership approach. He specifically criticized what he called "promoting and pursuing dynastic politics" within the party.
Social Media Message to Opponents
The RLM shared a photograph of Kushwaha with the two MLAs on its official social media platforms. This strategic move aimed to dismiss speculation about unhappiness among party legislators.
The discontent reportedly stems from Kushwaha making his son a minister despite his son not being a member of either legislative house. Party insiders confirm the picture served as a clear message to Kushwaha's opponents both within and outside the RLM.
