Rs 30 Crore Atal Memorial Announced in Jaipur

In a significant tribute to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma announced the construction of a memorial and a dedicated garden in Jaipur. The announcements were made on Thursday, which marked Vajpayee's birth anniversary, also observed as Good Governance Day.

Memorial and Garden to Honour Atal Bihari Vajpayee

Chief Minister Sharma declared that an 'Atal Kavya Smarak' memorial will be built at City Park in Mansarovar, Jaipur. This memorial will house an e-library and a traditional library facility for the public. Alongside this, Sharma also announced the creation of an 'Atal Loktantra Upvan' garden in the state capital.

The state government has committed a substantial budget for these projects. A total allocation of Rs 30 crore has been sanctioned for the development of both the memorial and the garden, underscoring the importance of this tribute.

Good Governance Day and Rozgar Mela Initiatives

The announcements were part of the Good Governance Day ceremonies. CM Sharma began the day by paying floral tributes to Vajpayee at the secretariat. He also administered an oath of good governance to officers and employees present.

Addressing a state-level function, Sharma highlighted the progress of Mission Karmayogi in Rajasthan. He revealed that HCM RIPA has been made the nodal department for the mission's activities. More than 7 lakh 'karmayogis' have enrolled and completed over 26 lakh training courses across the state, he stated.

Later, the Chief Minister attended the state-level Rozgar Mela (employment fair) held at Commerce College in Jaipur. He announced that his government will soon introduce a new youth policy and assured that such employment fairs will be organised regularly in every district.

The fair saw robust participation, with over 100 employers from more than 20 different sectors offering opportunities. During the event, CM Sharma personally handed over appointment letters to several youths who secured jobs in private companies through the fair.

Focus on Sports and Youth Development

Chief Minister Sharma also emphasized the government's commitment to sports. Addressing the closing ceremony of the MP Sports Festival at Sawai Mansingh Indoor Stadium, he gave assurances that no talented player in Rajasthan will be held back due to a lack of resources.

Drawing inspiration from national initiatives, he announced that Khelo Rajasthan Youth Games will be organised at the block, district, and state levels. These games will also include competitions for traditional sports, promoting a wide spectrum of athletic talent within the state.

The series of announcements made on Good Governance Day reflect the state government's multi-pronged approach, focusing on honoring legacy figures, improving governance, boosting employment, and nurturing sporting talent.
