RSS Achieves Massive Outreach in Bihar During Centenary Celebrations
In a significant development, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has successfully reached more than one crore homes across Bihar as part of its centenary year initiatives, according to senior functionaries of the organization. The outreach efforts, which commenced on Vijayadashmi in 2025, mark a major milestone in the Sangh's expansion and engagement activities in the state.
Extensive Grih Sampark Abhiyan Drives Contact
Addressing a joint press conference in Patna, RSS leaders Mohan Singh, the Uttar-Poorv (Bihar-Jharkhand) kshetra karyavah, and Rajkumar Sinha, the Dakshin Bihar prant sanghchalak, provided detailed insights into the campaign. They revealed that during a comprehensive 21-day "Grih Sampark Abhiyan," volunteers distributed Sangh literature and pamphlets to an impressive 84 lakh households throughout Bihar. This initiative was designed to foster dialogue and establish direct contact with residents across the region.
Beyond these 84 lakh homes, the officials noted that more than 10 lakh additional households are connected through the Sangh's active volunteers, bringing the total outreach to over 94 lakh homes. This concerted effort underscores the organization's commitment to broadening its base and strengthening community ties during this landmark year.
Hindu Sammelans Draw Large Participation
The RSS leaders also highlighted the success of the "Hindu Sammelans" organized at various locations in Bihar to commemorate the centenary. More than 10.41 lakh citizens attended these gatherings, which are still ongoing in the state. These events serve as platforms for promoting goodwill, harmony, and social cohesion, aligning with the Sangh's broader objectives of organizing virtuous forces within society.
Organizational Expansion and Shakha Growth
Sharing updates from the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha meeting held from March 13 to 15 in Samalkha, Haryana, the functionaries emphasized the continuous expansion of RSS shakhas nationwide, with particular focus on Bihar. Across the country, a total of 88,949 shakhas are currently operational at 55,683 locations. Over the past year, this has resulted in the addition of 3,943 new locations and an increase of 5,820 shakhas, reflecting robust organizational growth.
In Bihar specifically, the numbers show a positive trend. Last year, Uttar Bihar and Dakshin Bihar together hosted 2,308 daily shakhas. This year, that figure has risen to 2,575. Similarly, weekly milans have increased from 850 to 1,076, and Sangh Mandalis have grown from 272 to 356. According to Mohan Singh, this expansion means that the direct work of the Sangh in Bihar now reaches 4,007 locations, showcasing a significant uptick in activities and engagement.
Centenary Year Programs and National Impact
The centenary year programs officially began on October 2, 2025, coinciding with Vijayadashmi in Nagpur. The RSS has planned two primary types of initiatives: one focused on organizational expansion and the other on mobilizing societal forces for harmony and goodwill. From this perspective, the extensive Grih Sampark Abhiyan and Hindu Sammelans are being conducted across the country.
Nationally, the Sampark Abhiyan has reached an astounding 10 crore homes and 3,90,000 villages, while Hindu Sammelans have been organized at over 36,000 locations. These efforts highlight the Sangh's widespread influence and its dedication to fostering unity and dialogue during its centenary celebrations.
In summary, the RSS's outreach in Bihar during its centenary year has been remarkably successful, with over one crore homes contacted, significant growth in shakhas, and large-scale participation in Hindu Sammelans, all contributing to the organization's expanding footprint and societal impact.
