Nashik: Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde on Thursday said the ruling Mahayuti alliance is yet to finalise the seat-sharing formula for the upcoming Maharashtra Legislative Council (MLC) elections scheduled for June 18. Speaking to reporters during his visit to Chandwad in Nashik district, Shinde said the matter would be resolved soon by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Sunetra Pawar. "No formula has been finalised yet," he stated.
Review Meetings and Grassroots Engagement
During his visit, Shinde held a review meeting with party office-bearers from Chandwad and Niphad talukas. He interacted with workers and party functionaries for over two-and-a-half hours, discussing organisational strengthening and issues at the grassroots level. Later in the day, he visited Manmad in Nandgaon taluka, where he conducted another meeting with party office-bearers from Nandgaon and Yeola talukas.
Focus on Local Body Elections
According to party sources, the meetings focused extensively on preparations for the upcoming zilla parishad and panchayat samiti elections. The discussions emphasised the need to take the party's ideology to every village, booth, and voter through structured planning and sustained outreach. Shinde guided workers to strengthen the organisation at the grassroots by maintaining continuous public contact, enrolling new members, and actively addressing local issues.
Pre-Election Preparations and Youth Wing Expansion
He also stressed the importance of intensifying pre-election preparations and building a robust organisational network ahead of the polls. Special emphasis was laid on expanding the role of the youth wing. Party leaders instructed youth members to increase their presence in rural areas, engage with young voters through social media and direct interaction, and establish an effective booth-level mechanism.
Shinde's visit comes as the Mahayuti alliance fine-tunes its strategy for the MLC elections, with the seat-sharing formula expected to be announced soon by the top leadership.
