Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde conducted a major road show in Nashik city on Wednesday, campaigning vigorously for the Shiv Sena-NCP alliance candidates contesting the upcoming civic polls. The event marked a significant push by the alliance to secure power in the Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC).
Confidence in Alliance Victory
Addressing reporters during the campaign, Shrikant Shinde exuded strong confidence about the alliance's prospects. He stated that the Shiv Sena-NCP alliance will come to power in the NMC after the January 15 elections. He further predicted that the next mayor of Nashik will be from the Shiv Sena.
Shinde highlighted Nashik's historical significance as a stronghold for the party over many years. He pointed to the substantial funds the city received during the three-year tenure of party chief and Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde as a key achievement. "We are confident that our alliance will come to power and the next mayor in the NMC will be from Shiv Sena," the MP asserted.
Building on Past Performance and Future Promises
The MP drew attention to the party's recent performance in municipal council elections, where Shiv Sena won 64 out of the 135 councils it contested, achieving a strike rate of 47%. "Our strike rate will be better this time," Shinde optimistically projected.
He outlined the alliance's development-oriented approach, emphasizing preparations for the upcoming Kumbh Mela. "Right from the beginning, our approach was development-oriented. Preparations for the upcoming Kumbh Mela are already underway," Shinde said. He explained that most projects would be executed through the state's urban development department, ensuring focused development using state funds specifically for the mega event.
