Navjot Kaur Sidhu Accuses Congress Leader of Exploiting Youth with Rs 75 Joining Fee

In a scathing attack that has sent shockwaves through political circles in Punjab, former Congress functionary Navjot Kaur Sidhu has leveled serious allegations against Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president Raja Warring. Sidhu accuses Warring of exploiting Congress-affiliated youths by imposing a Rs 75 joining fee and allegedly collecting crores of rupees without offering any jobs or meaningful opportunities in return.

Sidhu's Social Media Outburst and Specific Allegations

Navjot Kaur Sidhu took to the social media platform X to voice her concerns directly. In her post, she wrote: "Raja Warring, you are the first one who has not even spared the youth of Punjab linked to Congress by putting up a 1-member joining fee at Rs 75. And just imagine how many youngsters you looted. Could you please tell me how many youths you helped by getting them jobs or good placements?"

She further demanded a detailed explanation for the expenditure of approximately Rs 7.5 crores, which she claims was collected from the youths of Punjab through these fees. Sidhu questioned whether young people were being used merely as crowd-pullers for rallies and political shows, rather than being genuinely empowered or provided with employment opportunities.

Political Turbulence in Amritsar and Beyond

This fresh barrage of criticism from Sidhu has triggered significant political turbulence, not only within Congress party circles but also across the Amritsar East constituency. It is noteworthy that Navjot Kaur Sidhu won the assembly elections from Amritsar East in 2012 on the BJP's ticket, adding a layer of complexity to the current situation.

The unease has been further amplified by the ongoing political dynamics in the region. Former BJP candidate Jagmohan Singh Raju, who lost the 2022 assembly elections from the Amritsar West constituency to AAP candidate Jeevan Jot Kaur, is already pushing hard to secure the party's ticket for the 2027 assembly polls. Sidhu's allegations have introduced new variables into this already competitive landscape.

Speculation About Sidhu's Political Future

Sources indicate that given the manner in which Navjot Kaur Sidhu has praised the leadership of the BJP while censuring Congress leaders, the possibility of her joining the BJP cannot be ruled out. This potential shift could have far-reaching implications for the political equations in Punjab, particularly in constituencies like Amritsar East and West.

The allegations have sparked a broader debate about the treatment of youth in political parties and the ethical responsibilities of leaders in providing tangible benefits to their supporters. As the controversy unfolds, it remains to be seen how Raja Warring and the Congress leadership will respond to these serious charges.
