CHENNAI: DMK leader and Chief Minister MK Stalin is trailing by 2,278 votes at the end of round 3 of the counting of EVM ballots in the Kolathur constituency. TVK candidate VS Babu has secured 12,917 votes as of 10 am, while Stalin has polled 10,639 votes. The difference between the two widened by at least 1,000 votes in round 3. However, counting of postal ballots is yet to begin for Kolathur.

TVK leader C Joseph Vijay took the lead at the first round of EVM ballot counting for the Perambur constituency. Vijay polled 6,469 votes in the first round, while DMK candidate RD Shekar polled 3,472 votes. A tight contest continues in postal ballots in Perambur. DMK and TVK are taking the lead in various constituencies.
