After taking a two-day break from public engagements, Sudhakaran made an emotional return to party activities by attending a Congress event in Kannur on Sunday. "My survival has often depended on the timely information and swift response of our dedicated party cadres," Sudhakaran stated during his address to party members and supporters.

When directly questioned about whether he would contest in the assembly elections, Sudhakaran maintained that "the party will take that decision" regarding his candidacy. However, reliable sources within the Congress party have indicated that the MP remains firmly committed to contesting from the Kannur assembly constituency, creating a significant challenge for the party's high command.
The Congress leadership now faces a complex dilemma. Granting Sudhakaran an exemption to contest assembly elections while serving as an MP could potentially open the floodgates for similar requests from other parliamentarians.
