RJD Leader Tejashwi Yadav Launches Scathing Attack on NDA Government in Bihar
In a sharp critique, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav on Monday accused the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government in Bihar of squandering nearly half of its first year in office without initiating any substantial new projects. Speaking from Patna, Yadav highlighted the administration's perceived lack of direction and planning since its formation on November 20.
Government Criticized for Inaction and Poor Governance
Tejashwi Yadav released a statement asserting that the NDA government has been operational for five months and seven days, yet it functions without a clear long-term vision, roadmap, or detailed work plan. He emphasized that this period represents 43% of the first year, which he claims has been wasted due to inaction. Yadav pointed out that the government has failed to hold cabinet meetings for months and has not introduced any innovative policies, instead relying on old ideas and what he termed as false promises.
Targeting New Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary
In his remarks, Yadav also directed criticism at the newly appointed Chief Minister, Samrat Chaudhary, who replaced Nitish Kumar last week. He questioned Chaudhary's depth of knowledge and reasoning, suggesting that the people of Bihar are well aware of his capabilities. Yadav alleged that the state is no longer governed locally but is instead controlled remotely by what he referred to as "two Gujarati friends," implying external influence from central BJP leaders. This, he argued, has led to public regret over the mandate given to the new government.
RJD Mocks BJP's 'Aakrosh March' Protest
On a related note, RJD functionaries ridiculed the BJP's 'Aakrosh March,' a protest organized against the defeat of the women's reservation bill in the Lok Sabha. They claimed this event exposed the BJP's hypocrisy on women's representation issues. RJD chief spokesman Shakti Singh Yadav provided statistics to bolster their argument, noting that the RJD allocated 29% of its Lok Sabha tickets to women, 17% in assembly polls, and 21.4% for the legislative council. He challenged the BJP to disclose its own percentages for women candidates, highlighting what he sees as a disparity.
Internal Divisions Within NDA Highlighted
During the protest, internal tensions within the NDA were reportedly visible, as former minister Leshi Singh walked out of a meeting. This incident, according to RJD officials, underscores the growing differences among NDA constituents, particularly with the BJP. The RJD's comments aim to portray the alliance as fragmented and ineffective in addressing key social issues like women's empowerment.
