Telangana Chief Minister Reviews Comprehensive Development Plan for Godavari Pushkarams
In a significant move to enhance religious and tourist infrastructure, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy conducted a detailed review on Sunday of plans for the development of major temples and pushkar ghats situated along the Godavari river basin. The ambitious project spans from Basara to Bhadrachalam, aiming to revitalize this sacred stretch for the upcoming Godavari Pushkarams.
Strategic Meeting Focuses on 2027 Deadline
The review meeting, held in the assembly committee hall, centered on discussing the necessary arrangements and facilities required for the successful conduct of the Godavari Pushkarams. A key directive from the Chief Minister was to ensure the completion of all critical works by June 2027, setting a clear timeline for this large-scale initiative. Officials provided a comprehensive presentation outlining the formulated plans for various tasks to be undertaken specifically for the pushkarams.
Formation of Technical Committee and War Room
Following the presentation, Revanth Reddy instructed officials to establish a committee of technical engineers. This committee is tasked with identifying suitable locations for organizing the event, conducting thorough field visits, and submitting its report to the committee of officials within a strict 20-day period. To streamline coordination and prevent any departmental inefficiencies, the Chief Minister ordered the creation of a dedicated ‘War Room’ at Praja Bhavan, emphasizing the need for seamless inter-departmental collaboration.
Structured Approval Process and Infrastructure Enhancements
The Chief Minister outlined a structured approval process for the plans. The committee of officials will examine the engineers' report and forward it, along with detailed cost estimates, to the cabinet sub-committee. After approval from the cabinet sub-committee, the full cabinet will make the final decision. Revanth stressed that plans must be meticulously structured to ensure the timely completion of both permanent and temporary works according to a prioritized schedule.
Additionally, he directed measures to expand ghats at major temples and key tourist destinations, ensuring no issues related to infrastructure and connectivity between various regions. Officials were briefed on the master plan for the development and expansion of the Basara Sri Gnana Saraswati Temple, with the Chief Minister offering suggestions for further improvements to enhance the overall project.
