A tragic road accident in Patan district claimed two lives and left another person seriously injured late Saturday night. The collision occurred around 10:30 PM near Sakthi Ma Na Mandir at Shankeshwar-Ratanpura Patia when a high-speed motorcycle crashed into an autorickshaw.
Details of the accident
According to Shankeshwar police inspector P V Vasava, the autorickshaw was transporting vegetables, while the two motorcycle riders were on their way to attend a marriage function. The impact was so severe that both vehicles were extensively damaged.
Casualties and injuries
The autorickshaw driver, identified as Kaduji Thakor (20), and the motorcycle rider, Ranjitji Thakor (25), died on the spot due to fatal injuries. The pillion rider, Kalpesh Thakor (23), sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a hospital in Patan. Police reported that his condition is stable and he is undergoing treatment.
Police have shifted the bodies for post-mortem and have initiated an investigation into the accident. Further details are awaited as authorities look into the circumstances leading to the crash.
