Details of the Fatal Incident

According to the Gangavathi Rural police, the tragedy unfolded after lunch when three youths entered a shallow section of the river near the city. Community and Safety Concerns

This incident highlights the potential dangers of bathing in natural water bodies, especially after festive occasions like Holi, when celebratory activities can lead to risky behavior. The Tungabhadra River, while a common spot for locals, poses hidden hazards due to its unpredictable terrain.

Police officials have urged residents to exercise caution near rivers and avoid venturing into water without proper safety measures. The community is mourning the loss of the two young lives, with many calling for increased awareness and preventive actions to avoid similar tragedies in the future.
