VCK extends unconditional support to TVK to form government in Tamil Nadu
VCK backs TVK unconditionally to form Tamil Nadu govt

Chennai: VCK leader Thol Thirumavalavan on Saturday announced that his party is extending unconditional support to actor Vijay's Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) to form the government, as it seeks to prevent the imposition of President's Rule in Tamil Nadu.

Speaking at a joint press meet, Thirumavalavan said, "We are going to extend support to TVK to uphold the people's mandate. However, we continue our alliance with the DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance." He emphasized that the decision mirrors the stance of CPI and CPM, which have also extended support to TVK without participating in the government.

Thirumavalavan and CPI state secretary M Veerapandian condemned Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar's initial refusal to meet TVK chief Vijay. They stated that the governor should respect the Constitution and the mandate of the people of Tamil Nadu. Notably, the governor later granted an appointment to Vijay.

Thirumavalavan further noted that they had conveyed their decision to DMK leader M K Stalin, who responded positively. Stalin reportedly made it clear that he would not be an obstacle to the formation of the new government under TVK chief Vijay.

This development comes amid political tensions in the state, with VCK and its allies aiming to ensure a stable government formation in line with the electoral mandate.
