CM Yogi Adityanath Reviews Chaitra Navratri Fair Preparations in Mirzapur

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted a comprehensive review of the arrangements for the upcoming Chaitra Navratri fair in Mirzapur, issuing a series of directives to ensure a smooth and safe event for devotees. The CM emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness and implementing robust security measures throughout the fair area.

Focus on Cleanliness and Sanitation

Yogi Adityanath directed officials to keep the fair premises plastic-free and impeccably clean. He specifically called for door-to-door garbage collection to enhance sanitation levels. The CM stressed that ghats and roads must be maintained in a pristine condition, with adequate safety arrangements in place for bathing activities.

"Arrangements for clean drinking water for all devotees should be prioritized," stated the Chief Minister. He further instructed the deployment of mobile toilets and ensured reliable electricity supply across the fairgrounds.

Enhanced Security and Safety Measures

The security framework for the Chaitra Navratri fair includes the deployment of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), divers, and water police along the Ganga river. Yogi Adityanath mandated the installation of sufficient CCTV cameras to monitor the area comprehensively.

Police personnel have been instructed to interact courteously with devotees. Additionally, proper arrangements at shops will safeguard the belongings of visitors. The CM emphasized the need for adequate parking facilities to prevent devotees from walking long distances.

Infrastructure and Health Provisions

Mirzapur District Magistrate Pawan Kumar Gangwar provided detailed insights into the logistical preparations. The fair area has been segmented into 10 zones and 21 sectors for efficient management. Surveillance will be conducted through:

  • 206 CCTV cameras
  • Six AI-enabled cameras
  • Four drones

Administrative and police control rooms have been established to coordinate operations. Infrastructure provisions include:

  1. 21 designated parking sites
  2. Drinking water facilities at 50 locations
  3. Shelters for devotees
  4. Comprehensive lighting at ghats and roads
  5. 15 permanent transformers and four reserve transformers

Over 1,000 sanitation workers have been deputed to maintain cleanliness. The fair will feature 103 temporary toilets, three mobile toilets, and 50 permanent toilets. Health camps equipped with sufficient doctors and medicines will be set up within the fair area to address medical needs.

Broader Development Initiatives in Mirzapur

Beyond the fair arrangements, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath assessed ongoing development projects in Mirzapur district. He directed officials to allocate land to investors to facilitate industrial establishment and encouraged meetings with public representatives and entrepreneurs to resolve local issues.

The CM called for strict action against individuals involved in cow smuggling and illegal slaughter. He emphasized the need for 100% completion of farmer registries and timely resolution of consolidation work. Accountability among officials was stressed, with instructions for cross-verification of animal husbandry and cow protection centers.

Pending revenue cases should be resolved promptly, and Jal Jeevan Mission officials were instructed to ensure water supply to every household. Contractors were reminded of their 10-year repair obligations post-project handover, with warnings of action for any negligence. Officials were also tasked with verifying drinking water projects alongside public representatives.

Beggars will be accommodated at designated places and provided food through community kitchens, as per the CM's directives. Verification of e-rickshaws and auto-rickshaws will be conducted to ensure safety and compliance.
