CM Yogi Adityanath Advocates National Unity Over Caste Divisions in Muzaffarnagar Address

In a significant address delivered in Muzaffarnagar on Monday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a series of development projects and unveiled a statue of the revered historical figure Ahilyabai Holkar. During his speech, the CM strongly criticized the practice of confining great personalities within narrow caste boundaries, calling for a broader national perspective.

Emphasizing National Contributions Beyond Caste

Chief Minister Adityanath asserted that the contributions of iconic figures like Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar and Chaudhary Charan Singh were dedicated to the nation as a whole, not to any specific caste or individual. He argued that respecting such personalities requires moving beyond caste-based interpretations.

"Great personalities should be respected and not confined within narrow caste boundaries. The country became enslaved when great personalities were divided along caste lines," stated Yogi Adityanath.

He posed rhetorical questions to underscore his point: "Was the clarion call given by Dhan Singh Kotwal in the first war of Independence for any caste? Were those who were martyred in Muzaffarnagar sacrificing for their families? Did Rani Laxmibai, Maharana Pratap, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Guru Gobind Singh fight for any caste?" The CM emphasized that these historical figures fought for the nation and dharma, transcending caste identities.

Praising Chaudhary Charan Singh and National Heroes

Speaking specifically about Chaudhary Charan Singh, Yogi Adityanath highlighted that his greatness stemmed from advocating for the welfare of all citizens, without focusing on caste distinctions. "A national hero has no caste," he declared, drawing a parallel to soldiers defending the country's borders.

"When a soldier fights at the border, he does not see caste, he sees the nation. He belongs to every caste. National issues should not be politicized and some areas should be kept above politics where the nation remains supreme," the CM added, urging for depoliticization of matters of national importance.

Honoring Ahilyabai Holkar's Legacy with Concrete Initiatives

Paying tribute to Ahilyabai Holkar, Chief Minister Adityanath announced that the Uttar Pradesh government will construct working women's hostels in her name to keep her legacy alive. Currently, 14 such hostels are under construction across the state.

He recounted Holkar's historical significance, noting that she worked tirelessly to preserve India's cultural heritage during the Mughal subjugation. Notably, she played a crucial role in rebuilding the Kashi Vishwanath temple after its destruction by Aurangzeb.

Addressing Global and Local Development Issues

Shifting focus to international affairs, Yogi Adityanath credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for ensuring a sense of security for 145 crore Indians amidst ongoing crises in regions like the Middle East, including countries such as Pakistan, Iran, Dubai, Qatar, Iraq, and parts of Europe.

"This reflects the strength of a New India. In many countries, inflation is at its peak and prices of petroleum products have increased manifold, but the situation in India is under control," he stated.

The CM explained that the central government is incurring additional daily expenditures worth crores of rupees to provide relief to the public, ensuring that common citizens are not burdened by economic pressures.

Announcing Municipal Upgradation for Muzaffarnagar

In a key local development announcement, Chief Minister Adityanath revealed that Muzaffarnagar will soon be upgraded to a Municipal Corporation. Acknowledging the city's significant expansion over time, he has directed local MLA Kapil Dev Aggarwal to prepare a formal proposal for this transition from Nagar Palika Parishad status.

This move aims to enhance urban governance and infrastructure development in the rapidly growing region, aligning with the state's broader development objectives.
