Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath Enforces Zero Tolerance Policy for Festival Security
In a decisive move to safeguard communal harmony, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued a stringent warning to anti-social elements against any attempts to disrupt peace during the imminent festive season. Chairing a high-level review meeting via video conferencing on Wednesday, the CM emphasized that festivals must remain confined within traditional boundaries, and any acts of public disorder or provocation will face severe consequences under the government's unwavering "zero tolerance" policy.
Directives for Law and Order and Public Safety
Adityanath explicitly instructed officials to prioritize law and order, communal harmony, and public safety at all costs. He made it unequivocally clear that negligence will not be tolerated, and every piece of information must be treated with utmost seriousness. The CM directed divisional commissioners, district magistrates, and senior police officials to collaborate seamlessly to foster a peaceful environment across the entire state of Uttar Pradesh.
With large gatherings anticipated at temples during Navratri, authorities have been mandated to ensure comprehensive arrangements for security, sanitation, crowd management, drinking water, lighting, and healthcare services. Extra vigilance has been ordered at major religious sites and other crowded locations to preempt any potential disturbances.
Swift Action Against Criminal Activities
Taking cognizance of criminal incidents reported from various districts, the Chief Minister demanded detailed reports on actions taken. He reiterated that even a single crime could destabilize the overall social fabric and directed officials to act promptly and firmly against offenders. Specifically addressing incidents like chain snatching, Adityanath ordered increased patrolling by PRV-112 vehicles, emphasizing that criminals must harbor a palpable fear of the police.
"There should be a visible deterrence. Lawbreakers must think twice before committing a crime," he asserted, underscoring the need for a robust police presence to curb unlawful activities.
Compliance with Supreme Court Guidelines and Other Measures
The CM also directed strict adherence to Supreme Court guidelines regarding loudspeakers at religious places, mandating that sound levels remain within prescribed limits. Any violation should result in the immediate removal of equipment. Additionally, he expressed concern over bike stunts and ordered rigorous enforcement to curb such hazardous activities.
On the economic front, Adityanath instructed officials to guarantee uninterrupted availability of LPG cylinders despite global uncertainties. He warned against artificial shortages, hoarding, and black marketing, directing authorities to take stringent action against violators to ensure essential supplies remain accessible to the public.
Preparations for Presidential Visit and Stray Cattle Management
In light of the proposed visit of the President to Ayodhya and Mathura-Vrindavan, the Chief Minister instructed officials to strictly adhere to protocol and ensure all arrangements are meticulously in place. Furthermore, he reviewed the functioning of stray cattle shelters and directed improvements in their management. This includes timely fund disbursal, appointment of nodal officers, and ensuring proper fodder and care for the cattle.
Earlier in the meeting, the Director General of Police informed the CM that the police force is intensifying efforts to ensure the peaceful conduct of festivals, with heightened foot patrolling as a key strategy. This comprehensive approach aims to maintain tranquility and security throughout Uttar Pradesh during the celebratory period.
