A sub-inspector serving with the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) tragically passed away after suffering a sudden cardiac arrest while engaged in a recreational activity. The incident occurred on Sunday night at the force's camp located in Vairengte, Mizoram.
Sudden Collapse During Recreational Session
The deceased has been identified as Kh Ranjit Singha, who was a resident of Lauthai village in the New Doyapur area of Cachar district, Assam. He was serving with the CRPF's 225 Battalion, which has its headquarters in Aizawl. At the time of the incident, he was deployed at the Vairengte camp situated along the sensitive Assam-Mizoram border.
According to accounts from fellow personnel, the cardiac arrest struck during a routine badminton session. Singha had just finished a game and was in the process of switching places to take a short break when he suddenly collapsed on the court. His colleagues acted swiftly, rushing him to the unit's medical officer for immediate attention. Unfortunately, despite all efforts, he was declared dead shortly after.
Family Confirms Cause, Body Sent for Autopsy
The cause of death was later confirmed by his younger brother, Prabin Singha, who stated it was a heart attack. Following the protocol, the body was transported to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for a mandatory post-mortem examination.
Kh Ranjit Singha leaves behind his wife and a young son who is currently studying in Class V. The news of his untimely and sudden demise has sent shockwaves through his native Lauthai village, casting a deep shadow of sorrow over the community.
