India's campaign at the Macau Open BWF World Tour Super 300 came to a close on Saturday as Ashmita Chaliha bowed out in the semifinals. The left-handed Indian shuttler lost to Korea's Park Ga Eun in straight games, 21-17, 21-9, in a match that lasted 38 minutes.

One-Sided Affair

Ashmita started the opening game strongly and even held a 15-11 lead. However, Park turned the tide by winning 10 of the next 11 points to take the game. In the second game, Ashmita struggled to find her rhythm, and Park wrapped up the match comfortably.

Earlier Victories

Earlier, Ashmita had defeated Kim in the quarterfinals in 37 minutes with scores of 21-16, 21-18. That match saw a neck-and-neck opening game until 14-14, after which Ashmita won four straight points to seize control. In the second game, Kim led 11-5 at the interval, but Ashmita fought back with five consecutive points from 16-18 to clinch the match.

Meanwhile, eighth seed Anmol Kharb's challenge ended in the quarterfinals. She lost to fourth seed Han Qian Xi of China in three games: 14-21, 21-15, 21-13.

With Ashmita's loss, India's participation in the Macau Open concluded. The tournament is part of the BWF World Tour Super 300 series.
