Udupi MLA Advocates Sports for Govt Employees' Stress Relief at District Meet
Udupi MLA: Sports Vital for Govt Employees' Stress Relief

Government employees in Udupi frequently face high levels of stress due to tight deadlines and demanding workloads. To combat this mental and physical strain, they should make time for daily activities like sports, yoga, and regular exercise. These practices can significantly improve their well-being and productivity.

Sports Meet Provides Much-Needed Relief

In this light, the sports meet organized by the State Government Employees Association holds great value. It has proven effective in helping employees unwind and reduce their stress levels. Udupi MLA Yashpal A Suvarna highlighted this point during his address.

He spoke on Monday at the inauguration of the Udupi district-level sports meet and cultural competitions for state government employees. The event took place at the Ajjarkad Mahatma Gandhi District Stadium. Multiple organizations collaborated to make it happen, including the district administration, zilla panchayat, youth empowerment and sports department, and the Karnataka State Government Employees Association, Udupi district branch.

Addressing Work-Related Stress

MLA Suvarna explained that excessive work stress directly impacts both physical and mental health. This often leads to disruptions in daily routines and overall functioning. He noted that engaging in sports and cultural activities can refresh the mind and restore balance.

The Government Employees Association has been performing exceptionally well in tackling members' concerns. Suvarna praised the association for organizing the sports program in an unprecedented and thorough manner. He also commended their ongoing efforts and pledged to support their long-standing request for a dedicated building.

Strengthening Democracy Through Collaboration

MA Gafoor, chairman of the Karnataka Coastal Development Board, also addressed the gathering. He stressed the need for government employees and public representatives to work hand in hand. This collaboration is essential for strengthening democratic processes and ensuring effective governance.

Gafoor pointed out that when government employees serve the public with dedication and integrity, it enhances the government's reputation. Despite facing daily challenges, employees should prioritize sports to maintain their health and vitality. He emphasized that sports should play a role in building a stronger, more cohesive society.

Furthermore, Gafoor encouraged the district's athletes to aim high. He urged them to excel in state and national-level competitions, bringing honor and recognition to Udupi.
