Jaipur: All the region's top shuttlers will be seen in action during the RD Baheti Memorial Jaipur District Open Badminton Championship 2026, which will be held from June 23 to 29 at the SMS Stadium Indoor Badminton Hall. Based on performance in the week-long tournament, the district squad will be selected for the forthcoming state meet.
Press Conference Highlights
Addressing a press conference at Hotel Vesta Maurya, Jaipur District Badminton Association (JDBA) secretary Manoj Dasot and RD Baheti Charitable Trust's Pradeep Baheti informed that competitions in the Under-11, Under-13, Under-15, and Under-17 age groups will be played under the new scoring system of 15 points times three games. The new 15x3 format will soon be adopted by the Badminton Association of India.
In Memory of RD Baheti
Pradeep Baheti stated that the competition is being held in memory of his father, the late RD Baheti, who was a prominent social worker, sports enthusiast, and comedian. He personally contributed significantly to the development of sports and the encouragement of athletes.
Tournament Officials
JDBA treasurer Atul Gupta stated that KK Mathur will be the chief referee, while Jagdish Khatri and Vikas Mathur will serve as deputy referees. Dharamraj Sharma, appointed by the Rajasthan Badminton Association, will be the match controller.
Entry Details
Manoj Dasot added that the deadline for submitting entries is June 21. All winners and runners-up will receive mementos and certificates. Senior players over the age of 70 will be exempted from entry fees.
Other Appointments
During the press conference, Deepak Sharma was appointed as an advisor to the JDBA. Pradeep Baheti, Manoj Dasot, and Alka Batra welcomed him with garlands. Many sports lovers and officials, including JDBA patron Rajeev Nagori, Vikas Mathur, Sanjay Bhargava, Pulkit Baheti, Ritu Lohiya, and Dr. Devendra Kumar, were present.
