A tragic accident on the Bengaluru-Nelamangala highway claimed the life of a 57-year-old electric bike rider on Saturday afternoon. The victim, identified as Lokesh PM, a sales executive and resident of Basaveshwaranagar, was traveling towards Bengaluru when the mishap occurred near Huskur Cross around 2:30pm.

Details of the Accident

According to police reports, heavy rain had made the highway extremely slippery. The truck ahead of Lokesh applied sudden brakes, causing him to lose control of his electric bike. He rammed directly into the rear of the truck, suffering fatal injuries on the spot. The truck driver fled the scene, leaving the vehicle behind.

Authorities have urged motorists to exercise extreme caution during rainy weather. They emphasized the importance of maintaining a safe distance from fast-moving heavy vehicles to avoid such tragic incidents. The police are investigating the case and searching for the absconding truck driver.
