NEET Re-test in Maharashtra: Students Focus on Revision and Anxiety Management
NEET Re-test: Maharashtra Students Gear Up for Sunday Exam

Pune: Aditi Kulkarni, a NEET candidate from Pune, will appear for the re-test on Sunday. “I have stopped looking at social media discussions and am focusing only on revision. Biology and chemistry are my priority areas this week,” she said.

Students across Maharashtra were spending the last two days before the examination revising key concepts and attempting mock tests.

For Pranali Patil from Nashik, managing anxiety has become as important as preparation. “I am revising from my notes, solving previous papers and trying to maintain a proper sleep schedule. Everyone is nervous, but we are trying to stay positive,” she said.

Statewide Preparations for NEET-UG 2026 Re-test

Maharashtra’s education, transport agencies and examination authorities have stepped up preparations for the NEET-UG 2026 re-test scheduled on Sunday to ensure a smooth, transparent and disruption-free examination for thousands of medical aspirants across the state.

The move comes after a high-level review of the examination arrangements by all the authorities in the state, during which officials emphasised the need for strict vigilance, transparency and efficiency in conducting the re-test. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has also urged students to stay calm, ignore rumours circulating on social media and focus on their final preparations.

Maharashtra accounts for one of the largest pools of NEET candidates in the country. District administrations, police authorities and transport agencies have been told to coordinate closely to ensure candidates reach their examination centres without difficulty.

Mumbai Suburban Trains On Weekday Routines

In a major relief for students in Mumbai, the Central Railway and Western Railway have cancelled their routine Sunday operating pattern for June 21 and will instead run suburban services according to weekday schedules.

The decision is expected to benefit thousands of candidates travelling to examination centres in Mumbai, Thane, Kalyan, Navi Mumbai and other parts of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

“Many students depend entirely on local trains. Knowing there will be no mega block and that trains will run like a normal weekday has reduced a lot of stress,” Aryan Shah, a Mumbai-based NEET aspirant, said.
