The Carolina Panthers have failed to show improvement in the team's performance over the last two seasons, winning eight games and losing nine in both 2025 and 2024. As the team gears up for a new season, all eyes are on the changes in the roster.
Panthers Linked to Former 49ers Star
According to a report by Bleacher Report's Doric Sam, the Carolina Panthers could make a move for former San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings after Day 2 of the NFL Draft. Sam noted, "The Carolina Panthers hit gold when they selected wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan with the No. 8 pick last year, as he produced 70 catches for 1,014 yards and seven touchdowns as a rookie." He added, "No other player on the team had more than 400 receiving yards, so the Panthers would be wise to bring in Jennings as another target for quarterback Bryce Young, even after selecting Tennessee receiver Chris Brazzell II with a third-round pick."
However, the Panthers have yet to comment on trade speculations concerning Jennings amid his record-breaking performance on the field. The wide receiver has been a force to be reckoned with in recent seasons.
Jennings' Stellar Performance
In the last season, Jennings recorded 55 receptions for 643 yards and a career-high nine touchdowns in 15 games, breaking records by becoming the first wide receiver in NFL history to have multiple passing touchdowns in a playoff career. In 2024, he finished the season with 77 receptions for 975 yards and six touchdowns across 15 games.
Despite his dominating performance, the San Francisco 49ers are not keen to re-sign him. A few days ago, 49ers general manager John Lynch opened up about Jennings, saying, "He'll find a good home, and Jauan will go play great football for someone." He added, "I can't say enough for what that guy did; when that guy stepped between the lines, man, he was a presence, and they had to deal with him, and he won us a lot of games."
For now, all eyes remain on where Jennings ends up next season after his stellar performance.
