A 13-year-old girl from Gujarat's tribal belt is making waves in the cricketing world, taking a giant leap towards her dream of representing India. Frenny Chaudhari, hailing from the Dang district, has secured a coveted selection to the Gujarat Under-15 women's cricket team and is currently showcasing her talent at a national-level tournament in Nagpur.
From Tribal Heartland to State Cricket
Frenny's roots trace back to Chirapada village in Ahwa taluka of Dang. The daughter of police head constable Arvind Chaudhari, she now resides in Surat with her family, who moved to provide her with better training facilities. A Class 8 student at JB & Karp Vidyasankul in Laskana, Frenny hones her skills professionally at the Free Cricket Academy in Surat.
Discipline and Support: The Winning Formula
Her rapid ascent in cricket is attributed to rigorous training and unwavering family backing. Under the expert guidance of coach Dhanusukh Patel, Frenny's innate athleticism has been meticulously transformed into competitive cricketing prowess. "I am happy that I got the opportunity to play for Gujarat. I could do this because of the support of my parents and my coach," Frenny shared.
Coach Patel speaks highly of her dedication and natural talent. "She is hardworking and focused, with exceptional stamina and flexibility. She is developing into a reliable batswoman, a sharp bowler, an agile fielder and a strong runner — a complete all-rounder in the making," he stated, expressing strong confidence in her future.
A Sporting Family's Legacy
Her father, Arvind Chaudhari, currently posted with the State Reserve Police (SRP) in Vav, Surat district, has been instrumental in nurturing her ambition. A sportsperson himself, he revealed that Frenny first excelled in athletics before switching to cricket. "She won several events in athletics. Once she took an interest in cricket, she started proving her abilities very quickly," he recalled.
Frenny's selection, which came through the Surat District Cricket Association following consistent domestic performances, has generated immense pride and excitement. Across Dang district and south Gujarat, her achievement is celebrated as a powerful source of inspiration for aspiring young athletes, especially from tribal communities.
