Second Incident: Man Critically Injured in Hit-and-Run
In a separate incident, a 35-year-old man was critically injured after being struck by a canter on Lakhuwas-Sohna Road while he was out for a morning walk on April 28. The victim, Vedpal, a resident of Sohna's Lakhuwas, had stepped out around 5:40 am when the accident occurred.
His brother Sonu, who was on his way to a gym with a friend, witnessed the accident and later filed a complaint at Sohna police station. According to Sonu, the canter, which was coming from Ballabhgarh Mod side at high speed, overtook another vehicle and lost balance after crossing a speed breaker. "Near a petrol pump close to the village, the vehicle struck Vedpal, throwing him towards a nearby drain and causing severe head injuries," he said.
Sonu and his friend rushed to help Vedpal. When the driver briefly slowed down before fleeing the scene, Sonu noted the vehicle's registration number: HR 38 AJ 4015. Vedpal was initially taken to a private hospital in Sohna and later transferred to another facility in Badshahpur on April 29 due to the severity of his injuries. He remains in critical condition.
