Tomar's Blazing Century Steals the Show
The Future Star Under-15 Championship kicked off on Wednesday with impressive performances from Gurugram Vipers and Karim Capital Chargers. The highlight of the day was Siddharth Tomar's unbeaten 41-ball century, the first hundred of the tournament, according to a release.
Gurugram Vipers Set the Pace
In the opening match, Gurugram Vipers posted a commanding 213 for 4, powered by Yuvraj's unbeaten 73 off 32 balls and Ayan Ali's 71 off 31 deliveries. Bahadurgarh Royals started strongly, reaching 78 without loss thanks to Deepit Vats (37) and Krishna (38). However, after the openers fell, the Royals lost momentum. Sujal Thapa (3/35) and Amogh Sirohi (2/11) applied pressure, restricting Bahadurgarh to 186 for 9, handing Gurugram a 27-run victory.
Hussain's Six-Wicket Haul Sets Up Tomar's Heroics
In the second match, Karim Capital Chargers captain Arman Hussain delivered a devastating spell, claiming 6 for 12 to dismantle the Flying Fire Delhi Chargers' middle order. Despite Arnav Phore's 32, Flying Fire could only manage 111 for 7. Siddharth Tomar, one of the most expensive buys at the auction, then blazed an unbeaten 100 off 41 balls, featuring ten fours and eight sixes, to steer Karim Capital Chargers to a nine-wicket victory with more than ten overs to spare.
Day 2 Fixtures
The group stage continues on June 25 with Sonipat Kings taking on Jayqoo Panthers Faridabad, followed by Meerut Spartans facing Noida Blaze.
