Kanpur: A tragic road accident occurred in Kanpur Dehat early Sunday morning, claiming the life of a 35-year-old vegetable trader and leaving another person injured. The incident took place around 4:30 am near the Mankapur petrol pump on the Sikandar-Jhinjhak Road.

Accident Details

According to police reports, the deceased, identified as Balbeer, was sorting out damaged vegetables from a parked loader when a speeding truck rammed into the vehicle from behind. The impact was so severe that the loader was pushed forward, and Balbeer sustained critical injuries. Another individual, Bhoora, who was standing nearby, was also injured in the collision.

Immediate Response

Both victims were immediately rushed to the Community Health Centre in Jhinjhak for medical treatment. However, doctors declared Balbeer dead upon arrival. Bhoora was provided necessary medical care and his condition is reported to be stable.

Driver Flees Scene

After the accident, the truck driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene, leaving the truck behind. Local authorities have launched a search operation to trace the absconding driver.

Police Action

Station officer Mahesh Dubey stated that further legal action will be taken based on a written complaint from the victim's family. The police are investigating the incident and have registered a case.

This accident highlights the dangers of speeding vehicles on highways, especially during early morning hours when visibility may be low. Authorities urge drivers to exercise caution and adhere to traffic rules to prevent such tragedies.
