Zimbabwe Unveils 15-Man Squad for T20 World Cup 2026 in India & Sri Lanka
Zimbabwe Squad Announced for T20 World Cup 2026

Zimbabwe Cricket has officially announced its 15-player squad for the upcoming ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, setting its sights on a strong performance in the tournament co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka. The global event is scheduled to run from February 7 to March 8, 2026.

Raza to Lead Experienced Core

The selectors have placed their faith in a familiar group, maintaining continuity by backing a settled core of players. Leading the charge once again will be the seasoned all-rounder Sikandar Raza, who continues in his role as captain. His leadership and all-round abilities will be central to Zimbabwe's campaign on the world stage.

Muzarabani's Return Bolsters Bowling Attack

The most significant update in the squad is the return of fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani. Having regained full fitness, Muzarabani, who missed the T20I triangular series in Pakistan last November, is back to spearhead the pace attack. His comeback is viewed as a major boost for the team's bowling resources.

He will form a potent new-ball partnership with left-arm seamer Richard Ngarava. The pace battery also includes Bradley Evans and Tinotenda Maposa, giving the team flexibility to adapt to the varied conditions expected in India and Sri Lanka.

Spin and Batting Blend

Experience is the theme in the spin department, with the recall of veteran leg-spinner Graeme Cremer. He will partner with the reliable Wellington Masakadza, offering control and wicket-taking options in the middle overs.

The batting unit presents a mix of exciting youth and proven experience. Youngsters Brian Bennett and Tadiwanashe Marumani will be eager to make their mark in their first World Cup appearance. They will be supported by the experienced wicketkeeper-batter Brendan Taylor, whose presence adds vital depth to the lineup.

The squad is rounded out by all-rounder Ryan Burl and the versatile trio of Tashinga Musekiwa, Clive Madande, Tony Munyonga, and Dion Myers, ensuring balance and multiple options for the team management.

Tough Group Awaits in World Cup

Zimbabwe has been placed in Group B of the tournament, facing a challenging path to the next round. Their opponents include powerhouse Australia, Ireland, Oman, and co-hosts Sri Lanka. The top two teams from the group will advance to the Super Eight stage.

The team's campaign will kick off against Oman on February 9 in Colombo. Their subsequent group fixtures are against Australia on February 13, Ireland on February 17 in Kandy, and they will conclude the first round against Sri Lanka on February 19 back in Colombo.

Zimbabwe's full 15-member squad: Sikandar Raza (captain), Brian Bennett, Ryan Burl, Graeme Cremer, Bradley Evans, Clive Madande, Tinotenda Maposa, Tadiwanashe Marumani, Wellington Masakadza, Tony Munyonga, Tashinga Musekiwa, Blessing Muzarabani, Dion Myers, Richard Ngarava, Brendan Taylor.
