In a dominant display, the men's team of Audit General Punjab cruised to a 9-2 victory over Rock Rovers Hockey Club (Master Team) in a league match of the Chandigarh State Senior Men and Women Hockey Championships held at the Sector 42 Sports Complex.
Match Highlights
Deepak opened the scoring for Audit General Punjab in the ninth minute, setting the tone for the match. Kawaljeet extended the lead in the 14th minute, followed by goals from Sandeep (23rd minute) and Yuvraj (25th minute), making it 4-0 at halftime.
Rock Rovers found a glimmer of hope when Pawan scored a field goal in the 31st minute, reducing the deficit to 1-4. However, Audit General Punjab responded strongly with a flurry of goals. Gurman scored in the 41st minute, Deepak added another in the 43rd minute, and Kawaljit struck in the 53rd minute. Deepak completed his hat-trick with goals in the 56th and 59th minutes. Pawan scored a consolation goal for Rock Rovers in the final moments of the game.

In other matches, AG Haryana edged past AG Punjab 3-2, while Chandigarh Hockey Academy, Sector 42, thrashed SGGSHC, Sector 26 (Red), 7-0. AG Haryana also secured a second league victory by defeating SGGSHC, Sector 26, 5-3.

In the women's category, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Hockey Club, Sector 26, registered a commanding 7-0 win over Sector 42 Hockey Stadium team. Rock Rovers Hockey Club beat SGGSHC-26 (Blue) 4-1, and KISCOE, Sector 42, defeated CHA, Sector 18, 2-0.
