The 162-foot-tall Hanuman statue at Koradi, which is claimed to be the tallest in Central India, is likely to be inaugurated in June in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, according to Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, who made the announcement on Tuesday.
The statue has been erected on the premises of Shri Mahalakshmi Jagdamba Sansthan at Koradi. Including its foundation, the structure stands 206 feet tall from the base, while the mace (gada) carried by the statue measures 74 feet.
Immersive Experiences and Thematic Displays
The upcoming attraction will include a "7D Hanuman Chalisa Projection" experience aimed at offering devotees an immersive encounter. Episodes from the life of Lord Hanuman will also be showcased beneath the statue through visual installations and thematic displays.
Broader Development Plan
The larger development plan encompasses a Ramayana cultural centre, Bharat Mata Mandapam, an adventure park, a kids' zone, boating facility, and extensive landscaping, including a proposed butterfly garden. A hostel for 500 students, educational facilities for nearly 800 students, an e-library with around three lakh books, and healthcare facilities are also part of the project.
Bawankule said the state government has granted administrative approval of 214.94 crore for the integrated pilgrimage site development plan. Development works are being carried out through the Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT) and Nagpur Metropolitan Region Development Authority (NMRDA). He expressed confidence that the project would boost tourism in Koradi and surrounding areas.
