French carmaker Citroen has officially teased the updated version of its entry-level electric hatchback for India, signaling a refreshed look and enhanced features for the model. The upcoming iteration is expected to be named the new Citroen eC3 X, building on the existing eC3 platform with a series of cosmetic and functional upgrades.
Design and Exterior Changes
The eC3 X will receive a revised front-end design, featuring a redesigned bumper with a silver skid-plate-inspired insert that adds a rugged touch. Citroen is also expected to introduce LED daytime running lights (DRLs) and LED fog lamps, replacing the simpler halogen setup found on the current model. Other visible changes include redesigned dual-tone alloy wheels and ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, enhancing both aesthetics and safety.
The upcoming electric hatchback is expected to follow the updated design language already seen on models like the C3 X, Aircross X, and Basalt X, ensuring a cohesive brand identity across the lineup.
Interior and Feature Enhancements
Inside the cabin, Citroen is likely to introduce several new features to elevate the driving experience. The eC3 X is expected to get a leatherette finish for the steering wheel and dashboard, ambient lighting, automatic climate control, cruise control with a speed limiter, fast USB Type-C charging ports, and an auto-dimming inside rearview mirror (IRVM).
The existing 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity is expected to continue, ensuring seamless smartphone integration. Higher variants could also offer a 360-degree camera system and a new 7-inch fully digital instrument cluster, providing a more modern and tech-savvy cockpit.
Powertrain and Performance
Mechanically, no major changes are expected for the eC3 X. The electric hatchback is likely to continue using the same 29.2 kWh battery pack paired with an electric motor producing 57 PS and 143 Nm of torque. Citroen claims a driving range of around 320 km on a single charge, while the top speed stands at 107 kmph. This setup ensures the eC3 X remains a practical choice for urban commuting and short trips.
