DTC Partners with IIT Kanpur for Digital Transport Boost

New Delhi: The Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Airawat Research Foundation (ARF) of IIT Kanpur on Monday to enhance the operation, maintenance, and improvement of the Delhi Transport Stack and the One Delhi App. This partnership aims to leverage advanced technologies, artificial intelligence, and data analytics to support key digital platforms, including the One Delhi App and ONDC-based bus ticketing services.

Strengthening Transport Technology

Transport Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh emphasized that the collaboration would institutionalize transport technology management, leading to improved service reliability, better connectivity, and an enhanced commuter experience across the capital. The initiative is expected to streamline digital mobility solutions for Delhi residents.

Milestone in Digital Mobility

The announcement coincided with DTC celebrating a significant achievement: issuing over 10 lakh Pink Saheli National Common Mobility Cards (NCMC) within 90 days of their launch on March 2. Minister Singh described this as one of the fastest large-scale digital mobility rollouts in the country. The Pink Saheli cards enable women commuters to access free travel on DTC buses through a modern, digital platform, promoting inclusive and sustainable urban transport.
