Kurukshetra University (KU) will host India's first artificial intelligence-powered mega job fair on July 9, 2026, Vice-Chancellor Prof Som Nath Sachdeva announced on Sunday. The event, organized by the Training and Placement Cell of the University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET) in collaboration with Google Cloud and Placecom, aims to connect nearly 28,000 students and alumni with AI-enabled employment opportunities.
AI-Powered Platform to Bridge Skill Gaps
Prof Sachdeva described the job fair as a first-of-its-kind platform that reflects KU's commitment to making students future-ready through technology-driven opportunities. He emphasized that the initiative aligns with the Haryana Chief Minister's vision to make the state and the nation AI-ready by encouraging young people to learn, understand, and effectively use artificial intelligence in all spheres of life. "Kurukshetra University is taking a decisive step in this direction by creating a platform that directly connects youth with emerging AI-enabled employment opportunities," he said.
Eligibility and Registration Details
Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Director UIET, and Convener of the Job Fair Prof Sunil Dhingra clarified that the fair is not limited to engineering students. All students pursuing undergraduate, postgraduate, professional, and research programmes across disciplines are eligible. The university has launched an extensive outreach campaign, sending messages to nearly 28,000 students and alumni to ensure maximum participation. The last date for registration is July 6, 2026, until 5 PM.
Collaboration with Google Cloud and Placecom
The partnership with Google Cloud and Placecom brings advanced AI tools and analytics to match candidates with suitable roles. This technology-driven approach is expected to streamline the recruitment process, offering personalized job recommendations and skill assessments. Prof Dhingra noted that the fair will feature multiple employers offering roles that leverage AI, providing a unique opportunity for students to explore careers in emerging fields.
Call for Widespread Participation
Prof Sachdeva appealed not only to UIET and KU students but also to students and young graduates from across Haryana to participate enthusiastically. He stressed that the job fair is a landmark event that will help bridge the gap between academic training and industry demands. The university expects a significant turnout, with many companies already confirming participation. Organizers are finalizing logistics to handle thousands of attendees on campus.
